dafür - Long-Term Employment for People with Disabilities

The objective for project “dafür” (in German, playing with the meaning “to be for it") is to increase the number of positions on the job market for people with disabilities.

Under the motto “long-term jobs for people with disabilities”, the project has been mandated by the Federal Welfare Office, and is supported by finances from the Employment Offensive of the federal government for people with disabilities, and the European Social Fund (ESF).

Project “dafür” has been running since July 2005 and will finish in March 2007. The consulting project is constructed of three modules. These three modules are as follow:

Modul 1 - Regional integration capabilities: An organisation concept developed for the integration of people with disabilities

Modul 2 - Regional business-orientated networking: Operating models designed to create work places for people with disabilities up to the implementation of those positions within companies

Modul 3 - Networked implementation: All concerned providers will know the new model, its functions and work effectively in the implementation of it

Merlin Business Consulting is responsible for the model in Module 2 and is currently working on developing an operating model for promoting the support of putting people with disabilities into the workplace and providing support services for employers. A business club has been established in which members are companies who “therefore” give people with disabilities a chance. Currently, this club has 87 members.

Further information about this project can be found here.

The project is being conducted in the Vorarlberg region. It is however also made up of national cooperative projects in Tyrol and Lower Austria, as well as internationally with Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Hungary. These cooperations also ensure the support of new ideas, which can be locally integrated if appropriate.
